Walking To THAT PLACE

That Place The LORD Will Provide (Genesis 22)

So Abraham called That place The LORD Will Provide.  And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided (Genesis 22:14).”

God asked Abraham to sacrifice the one who was precious to him.  He took his son Isaac to Mount Moriah in obedience to God’s word.  Abraham built an altar there and arranged wood on it.  He bound Isaac, laid him on the altar on top of the wood, reached out his hand and took the knife to slay Isaac.  But the angel of the Lord called out and stopped him and said, now I know that you fear God because you have not withheld from me your son.  Abraham looked up and saw God’s provision, a ram that was caught in the thicket.  He used the ram instead of Isaac for the burnt offering.

Abraham called THAT place, the Lord will provide, even after God had already provided the ram for the offering.  Abraham prophetically called out or pointed to Mount Calvary, where future provision would be made for another sacrifice.  Earlier, Abraham’s answer to Isaac’s question also pointed to Jesus.  When Isaac asked, “Father, the fire and wood are here but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” he answered, “God himself will provide, my son”.

Jehovah Jireh, Provision of Himself.  Just like Abraham who was willing to sacrifice his beloved son, our heavenly Father sent His beloved son Jesus to be the sacrificial Lamb for our sins.  I was supposed to be on the altar all bound up in sin, but the Lamb took my place and spared my life.

Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”  At Calvary there is provision not only for our sins but everything we need in our lives.  When we reach that place of surrender like Isaac, there is provision for our sin.  When we reach that place of faith and trust like Abraham, our sons and daughters will be given back to us.  When we reach that place of obedience, everything needed to fulfill what God asks us to do will be provided.  At That Place, on the mountain of the Lord (in His presence), our destiny is defined, the covenant is confirmed, and provisions are made.

Dear loved ones, let’s keep walking to that place in complete surrender, obedience, and trust. God will see to it and take care of our spiritual and physical needs.

This WORD has energized Mama to add a few more strides to reach that place, that place of provision, sooner.
